November 1st - 5th
Thank You, Lord, that we can come to You because of the blood of Your precious Son. Thank You for giving us the right long ago to stand boldly before You and lay our petitions at Your feet. You tell us in Your Word to make our supplications known to You in prayer with thanksgiving. “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.” Psalm 95:2 (KJV)
During this month that heralds Veterans’ and Thanksgiving Days, let us pour out our thankfulness to our Father for the blessings He so richly bestows upon us; those things that we tend to take for granted – our heritage, our founding fathers whose beliefs and faith in Almighty God shaped American into a great Nation; our family and friends that we think will always be there for us; the jobs and vocations we sometimes grumble about but puts food on our tables and clothes on our backs; the homes we wish were larger or more grandiose. What about the blessings that are of eternal value; the spiritual gifts that come with the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit; the abilities and talents God gives us everyday to do the work we have been given, to be a witness for Him in our places of employment.
Our mission fields, wherever we work, wherever we shop, wherever we go, are white unto harvest. Our possibilities are only probabilities until we let the Holy Spirit do His work in us. Thank Him for the opportunity He has given you to bring others into His Kingdom – for eternity.
Bible principle: “And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it at your own will.” Leviticus 22:29
Other Scriptural references:
Psalms 50:14 “Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High;” (KJV)
Psalms 69:30 “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.” (KJV)
Psalms 100: 4 “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise; be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.” (KJV)
Do we make time to ponder in our hearts the magnificence, grace and mercy of our Heavenly Father? Are we appreciative of every good thing that comes from above? Then how often do we go to Him in praise and thanksgiving?
