A new hope…
…through a closer relationship with our Lord and Father.
The Bible tells us that God gives each of us a measure of faith. There are times when we have doubted our faith or questioned if God would answer our prayers because of it. Maturing Christians desire to have a strong faith. Cheer up! His Word promises that: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 (KJV)
Our hope for victory over the trials and sorrows of life is found in the Word of God! We are told not to worry but to pray about everything, believing in the One Who will provide. “And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things will be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:25, 29-32 (KJV) “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you; But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s suffering; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” I Peter 4:12-13 (KJV)
God will take care of our problems when we give them to Him and go about His business of building the Kingdom.
May this new year of 2006 be a year of new beginnings, a new you, a new focus, and a new hope. Praise our Father daily. Thank Him for His grace and mercies that are new every morning – every morning, He gives us a new beginning. Let us not lose it by focusing on the past, whether it is past hurts, humiliations or failures. Old things are passed away, behold, God makes everything new. We only fail when we give up; otherwise God gives us continual opportunities to conquer the mountains, walk through the valleys, on the water, and through the fire. He is our refuge and our strong tower, a very present help in time of trouble.
Hope – faith: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
May each of us renew our focus this year and our faith grow as we diligently search for God.
